chicago via chicago avenue : about

Bricks, peeling paint, quirky architectural details, old/odd signage, brightly-colored hand-painted walls, old buildings actively or passively slipping away, delicate grid-like skeletons of new buildings going up, the feeling of an unknown history and/or future and the constant of transition; I first noticed I was fascinated by these things while taking Chicago Public Transit back and forth on the same path day after day. Over the years, the path has changed but this fascination remains. Recently, I have begun to document the buildings and details that attract me over my current path into the city, Chicago Avenue; the odd little architectural and decorative anomalies that may often go unnoticed or unappreciated and may not last for long as this city is in a constant state of change. This is a project that I intend to continue as the years go on.
